PAVEMENT ANTS

Most of us have seen Pavement ant activity at one time or another. They are most commonly seen digging up

small rings of sand or dirt on your driveway or patio. Unlike the Carpenter ant, they cause no structural damage but can become quite a nuisance in and around the home.

Here are some Pavement ant facts:

1/8"-1/6" long, blackish-brown ant
There are two visable lines or ridges on the head and thorax that make this ant indentifiable
Nests are found under stones, in walls, under floors, next to buildings and in insulation
Greasy and sweet foods are preferred
